We arrived at the Balsams wwww.thebalsams.com, a beautiful resort in New Hampshire's White Mountains very close to the Canadian border, on Tuesday, December 23. Every other year we spend with the Wolfords and mom and dad's gift to everyone is a stay at the Balsams. The resort was built just after the civil war -- we stayed in the "new wing" built in 1918. It is a year round resort, and in winter the activities include acres and acres of cross country skiing, as well as an on-site downhill ski area. A highlight of the sports activities was pulling the twins in a covered sled on our x-country skis.
