We can't figure out if raising twins is getting more difficult, or if we're just getting worse at it. We left the city Friday evening, forgetting the diaper bag, camera and all of Liam and Kiera's food for the weekend. Which was pretty sad, since we didn't bring all that much else. We stayed up late Friday catching up with Chiggy, who we hadn't seen in a few weeks. Saturday we went to cousin Kyle's confirmation lunch and a walk in Asbury Park (which was filled with great shops and a fancy new boardwalk, but we stopped by a new development where they had slashed prices by, we're guessing, at least 50%). Saturday night we stayed up too late watching a very bad movie, the Changeling. It's hard to enjoy a movie about a mom whose kid goes missing and is never found. This morning, we did the "bottle trick", meaning that when they wake up we open the door and throw bottles in their cribs and see what happens. Today it bought us an extra 1.5 hours of sleep. We spent the afternoon at Point Pleasant on the boardwalk. The band at the tiki bar was waaay too loud for the twins, but they couldn't get enough of the arcade games. This post includes a fuzzy video that Steve took on his treo (since no cameras) of Kiera making a break for it on the boardwalk with a ball we won as a skeet ball prize. In fact, we felt like we spent the better part of the weekend chasing after the twins, especially Liam who has absolutely no fear. For example, he'll stand at the top of the staircase and try to get down by swinging from the bannisters or just throwing himself headfirst at us. If he gets hurt, it only makes him want to do it that much more again.
