Weekend apart

Liam and Kiera spent their first weekend apart, and it was rough on all involved. We somehow didn't realize it would be so difficult for the twins. Kiera stayed with dad and basically cried all day Friday and was in funk the rest of the weekend. Liam went to North Carolina and was ecstatic about the plane ride and sitting in mom's lap for two hours. He read books, the seat cards and played high five with the guy sitting to next us. Unfortunately, the good mood ended in North Carolina, where Liam obviously missed Kiera, Dad and his routine, and decided he'd only be happy in mom's arms (and, for a short while, in Sam's arms). This went on the entire weekend, and Lisa and Liam had to sleep in the same bed and shower together. Wendy, John and Sam were good sports, though I'm sure it wasn't a good peek at what may lie ahead. Other than that, it was a great time in North Carolina. John made a very fancy dinner and Wendy and Lisa spent a lot of time organizing clothes and shopping for baby supplies.

What the blog doesn't say is that Lisa was amazing. She carried Liam around all weekend and _never_ got upset with him - even though she got very little sleep and couldn't even shower on her own... - she organized all of Wendy's baby clothes from Sam to incoming (six years worth), AND she organized and hosted a great party. All while Wendy ate, slept, complained and generally mucked around.
