This weekend was the start of Diwali, a Hindu holiday that celebrates the end of their year. There are many festivities associated with Diwali, but one that Annie observes is cooking serious amounts of vegetarian food and having a day-long festival of food and prayers for the community to give thanks for the year. She took Friday off to prepare, and the kids went to daycare for a couple hours. Lisa got a call 15 minutes after she left, with the teacher reporting that Liam was crying hysterically, throwing up everywhere and calling "mama mama". Everything was fine as soon as Lisa arrived back.
