Whose idea was this anyway?

On President's Day, we had tickets to see Elmo at Madison Square Garden. We thought the kids would be really excited. Instead, Kiera got scared when the show opened with loud music and disco lights and wanted nothing to do with our seats. Liam was good until intermission, when they brought out about 5,000 helium Elmo balloons for sale (note to Sesame: It's not cool to make parents pay $10 a balloon when they've forked out $70 apiece for show tickets). Naturally, the kids wanted balloons and didn't understand why we had to stand in a very long line to get them or why they had to store them under their seats during the second half. The balloons were such as distraction we had to leave before the end of the show.
